By Mark Wall (PR Consultant)

Key stage 4 Students from ACE School Tiverton, part of Transforming Futures Trust, organised planned and delivered a unique basketball tournament especially for year 7 students last week.

This was a project to help the older children complete the Health and Fitness Sports Qualification that they are undertaking.

Mr Morgan, Health and Fitness teacher said, “I am extremely proud of the excellent organisational skills shown by all the students and the natural ability they showed in working really successfully with our youngest students. As well as the tournament itself they displayed very good communication skills and impressive team work.”

Head Teacher Hannah Smart said, “the KS4 students did all the work and arranged the order of play. All of the students had a fantastic time, with each receiving a certificate of participation and the winning team members receiving medals to celebrate their success.”

Year 10 student Jake Boon said, “we all worked together to try and make it the best experience possible for the year 7 students”.

Gavin Gracie is the Chief Executive of Transforming Futures Trust. He said: “Our staff work very hard to create a positive learning and development environment in the schools. I’m so grateful to them for the work they do and very proud of our young people for their achievements.”
